Description
Nothing ruins a day in the field like feeling that unsettling wobble through the steering wheel or watching your front tire wear on one edge. The left spindle often wears faster than the right because of road crown and turning patterns. When it goes bad, you’ll feel vibration through the steering wheel, see the tire wearing on one edge, and hear expensive noises from failing bearings. This replacement spindle eliminates that dangerous play in your front end and restores the tight steering control your vintage Ford deserves.
What You’re Getting
- This spindle starts as a solid steel forging, then gets precision machined where it matters most
- Those bearing surfaces aren’t just “smooth” – they’re ground to specific dimensions and surface finishes that bearings need for long life
- Direct replacement design maintains original steering geometry and handling characteristics
- TISCO quality construction built to handle the stress of farm work
Built for the Working Classics
Your Ford 600, 700, 800, 900, 2000, or 4000 series tractor has been earning its keep for decades, and these spindles are what keep the front wheels running true. These 35-55 HP tractors are the Swiss Army knives of small farms – mowing in the morning, running a tiller at noon, moving round bales in the evening. All that varied work puts unique stresses on front-end components. This left-hand spindle handles everything from loader work to road travel while maintaining proper wheel alignment.
Made to Last
Farm equipment needs to handle whatever you throw at it, and this spindle is engineered for the long haul. The precision machining and quality steel construction ensure it’ll stand up to the bumps, loads, and constant motion that comes with real farm work. It’s built to the same standards as original equipment, so you know it’ll keep working season after season.
Installation Notes
Installation requires about 2 hours per side if everything cooperates. During installation, new bearings and seals are cheap insurance. A new spindle with old bearings is false economy. While you’ve got things apart, it’s smart to check your kingpins and inspect the other side – if one spindle is worn out, the other isn’t far behind. Proper bearing adjustment after assembly is critical: snug them up while rotating, then back off to the first cotter pin hole.
