Description

When your tractor’s dual power system starts slipping during shifts or grinding when you try to change ranges under load, those steel clutch plates are probably the culprit. This precision-ground steel disc works with the friction discs to engage and disengage your dual power transmission, letting you seamlessly shift between power ranges without stopping—something you’ll really appreciate when you’re in the middle of a long day pulling implements or running the PTO.

What You’re Getting

  • Precision-machined steel construction with exact 168mm outer diameter and 119mm inner diameter for perfect fit
  • 1.9mm thickness engineered to handle the high torque loads of dual power systems
  • Heat-treated steel that resists warping even under heavy clutch engagement loads
  • Direct replacement for original equipment—no modifications needed
  • Works as part of a 5-disc steel clutch pack (sold separately as kit 42938)

Built for Real Farm Work

Your Ford New Holland 40 Series or TS Series tractor uses this steel plate as part of its sophisticated dual power transmission system. These tractors are workhorses—from the utility-sized 5640 up through the big 8340, plus the TS90 through TS115 models. Whether you’re running a rotary cutter, pulling a heavy disk, or operating hydraulic implements, this dual power system keeps you productive by letting you shift on the go.

Made to Last

This isn’t just any steel plate—it’s manufactured to the same exacting standards as the original equipment. The high-carbon steel construction provides the hardness needed to resist wear while maintaining the smooth surface finish that allows proper friction disc engagement. It’s designed to dissipate heat effectively, preventing those hot spots that cause warping and premature failure.

Good to Know

If you’re replacing one steel plate, you should plan on doing the whole clutch pack—mixing old and new components is false economy. You’ll need all five steel plates plus the friction discs for a complete rebuild. When reassembling, alternate steel and friction plates, and don’t forget to soak the new friction discs in hydraulic fluid for at least 30 minutes before installation.
