Description
If you’ve noticed exhaust noise getting louder or caught a whiff of hot exhaust gases where they shouldn’t be, your manifold might be cracked or warped. These British-built Nuffield tractors were workhorses in their day, but decades of heat cycling and vibration take their toll on exhaust manifolds. A failing manifold not only makes noise but can also affect engine performance and let dangerous fumes into the cab.
What You’re Getting
- Precision-cast iron construction that matches the original manifold design and mounting points
- Proper port spacing and gasket surfaces for a leak-free seal with your cylinder head
- Heat-resistant coating that stands up to the constant temperature changes of farm work
- All necessary bolt holes and mounting tabs positioned exactly like the factory part
- Durable construction built to handle the vibration and stress of agricultural use
Built for Real Farm Work
This manifold serves the Nuffield 10/60, 4/60, and 4/65 models—reliable tractors that were popular for general farm work, cultivating, and lighter field operations. These mid-sized machines were known for their dependable BMC diesel engines, and a good exhaust manifold keeps those engines running efficiently and quietly.
Made to Last
Cast iron construction handles the extreme heat and constant expansion-contraction cycles that come with diesel engine operation. The manifold is built to original specifications, so it’ll mount up properly and seal correctly against your cylinder head without any modifications or shimming.
Installation Notes
Let the engine cool completely before starting this job—manifolds get extremely hot and stay that way for hours. You’ll need new exhaust manifold gaskets, and this is a great time to check your exhaust pipe connection too. Use anti-seize on the manifold bolts to make future removal easier, and torque them to spec in the proper sequence to prevent warping.
