Description
When your 2030 series is burning oil, blowing blue smoke, or just feeling tired after years of faithful service, an in-frame overhaul can bring that reliable John Deere back to life. This kit covers the essential components you need to rebuild your 4-cylinder diesel engine without pulling the whole powerplant. It’s a practical approach to giving your tractor a fresh start when you’ve still got good main bearings and crankshaft.
What You’re Getting
- Complete cylinder sleeve and seal set to restore proper compression and eliminate oil burning
- 3-ring pistons with keystone top compression rings designed for diesel engine durability
- Wrist pins and retainers that handle the torque and stress of farm work
- Valve-grind gasket set plus oil pan gasket for a leak-free rebuild
- Everything sized for the 219 CID engine with 4.02-inch standard bore specifications
Built for Real Farm Work
Whether you’re using a 2030 with a loader, running hay equipment, or handling cultivation work, this engine has been a workhorse on farms for decades. The 219 cubic inch displacement gives you enough power for most jobs without being a fuel hog. These tractors often spend their days on utility work, mowing, light tillage, and loader duty where reliability matters more than raw horsepower.
Made to Last
Tru-Power builds these components to handle the demands of diesel operation. The sleeves are designed with no grooves, which means they’ll seat properly and last longer than cheaper alternatives. The keystone compression rings are engineered to seal effectively under the higher pressures of diesel combustion, giving you better compression and less oil consumption than standard rings.
Installation Notes
Check your connecting rod bolt length and add either TP-R74194 (2.125 inch) or TP-R80033 (2.325 inch) rod bolts as needed. This is a basic in-frame kit, so you’ll need to inspect your main bearings, crankshaft, and connecting rod bearings separately. If those components are in good shape, this kit will get your 2030 running like it should again.
